IXS Coatings is the parent company of GFX Solutions, LINE-X and Ultimate Linings — three established businesses serving distinct markets, customers and distribution channels.
Proprietary polyurea chemistry
What connects our group is not a shared brand but a shared platform: proprietary polyurea chemistry developed in-house, a purpose-built blending and packaging operation in Lebanon, Tennessee, a state-of-the-art ISO/IEC 17025-accredited laboratory on the same site, and the field technical support and robotic application capability to deliver that chemistry wherever it has to perform.
The group does not simply distribute someone else's coating. Formulations and colors are created to purpose — engineered around the customer's substrate, environment and performance requirements — so what arrives on site is a total solution rather than a product off a shelf.
Built on forty years, not a founding deck
The group traces its origins to 1986, when Ground Effects — now GFX Solutions — began building second-stage manufacturing capability for vehicle OEMs and manufacturing vehicle accessories. IXS was formed in 2012, combining Ground Effects with LINE-X. Ultimate Linings followed in 2017, bringing proprietary polyurea formulations and intellectual property into the group. In 2026 the group divested its traditional vehicle accessory manufacturing business and rebranded Ground Effects to GFX Solutions to focus on its high performance coatings business and the application of polyurea onto a multitude of substrates within various environments across many industries. Each step moved IXS further up its own supply chain.
Where the group is different
Most coatings companies either formulate or apply. IXS does both, manufactures in between, and brings its own field technical support and robotic application capability to the point of use. That means the chemistry on a GFX Solutions OEM spray line, in a LINE-X franchise bay, and in an Ultimate Linings industrial system originates from formulations the group creates, not merely controls, and is blended and packaged at a plant the group purpose-built and operates. Where an application demands it, both chemistry and color are engineered to specification rather than selected from a catalog.
In 2022 the group purpose-built its Lebanon blending and packaging operation, an economic investment of nearly $100 million — raw material storage, blending, warehousing, laboratory and coatings blending and packaging under one roof with 300 million pounds of capacity. When chemical supply tightened again in 2026, that infrastructure held production schedules and protected our customers from disruption while much of the market could not source material or experienced significant price inflation.

GFX Solutions
Second-stage manufacturing and vehicle upfitting for truck and SUV OEMs.
GFX Solutions applies proprietary coating systems and installs vehicle accessories across 21 co-located and logistically integrated facilities worldwide, operating as an extension of the OEM's build sequence from dedicated facilities nearby — which means meeting automotive quality, throughput and documentation standards rather than aftermarket ones. GFX Solutions is the largest automotive OEM applicator of high-performance polyurea coatings, using its own patented robotic application process. Two further facilities open and two expand between late 2026 and early 2027.

A market leader with a globally recognized brand, LINE-X delivers proprietary spray-on protective coatings and a broad portfolio of truck, vehicle and lifestyle accessories through an established franchise network — serving customers from the single-truck enthusiast to the multi-vehicle trade user. The franchise model puts application expertise close to the end customer, in local bays rather than centralized facilities.

Ultimate Linings
Advanced polyurea and protective coatings blending and packaging.
Ultimate Linings formulates, blends and packages proprietary coating technologies at the group's Lebanon, Tennessee facility, supplying industrial OEM customers, professional applicators and partners across the United States and international markets. Formulations and colors are engineered to specification in an on-site ISO/IEC 17025-accredited laboratory. Ultimate Linings is also the group's coatings platform, supplying the chemistry used across GFX Solutions and LINE-X.
